MIT Decisions 2011 Released Today!

Okay.....I had this huge post I wrote up and I accidentally deleted it all. OMG >___< Blogger then decided to auto save the second that happened. Today is not my day. My product yield in ochem earlier was incredibly bad because I have been mentally detached waiting for this decision.

Okay long story short -- I was rejected. I typed out my response better but yeah.

I am very disappointed that I didn't try harder but whatever. C'est la vie. I'm 21 and have family members who have lived past 100. All in all, I have at least 79 more years to experience MIT. Now that I have been rejected from MIT a second time you're probably wondering if I am going to keep applying until I get in. The simple answer to that is no. As previously stated, this is my final time applying to MIT undergrad. It is time to move on and find out what that other path brings. In my case -- paths.

MIT wasn't the only university I applied to. So far I have been accepted to UC Santa Cruz for Bioengineering and I am waiting for UCI to confirm my TAG standing for Biomedical Engineering. UC Davis, UC San Diego, UCLA, and UC Berkeley will release all decisions at the end of the week or next (definitely next for Berkeley). Stay tuned!

By the way, congratulations to the extremely lucky people who were accepted! Let me know if you don't want your spot. hehe

Fellow rejectee here. I've followed your blog since last year and hoped that you would've gotten in.

Remember, adcoms are just people. Who knows, maybe with a different set of officers, outcomes may have been different. Don't give up if MIT is truly where you want to be.

Good luck :)

I was rejected by MIT, too. I have been keeping track with your posts for a long time and found you are a passionate science person. Good luck with everything. Not every single successful scientist came from MIT. Enjoy your life!

I've followed your blog from time to time since I was interested in applying there (Caltech/MIT) myself. I probably won't because I won't have enough money to attend there anyway, but I'm sorry to hear you were rejected. Good luck at SD. I'm sure you'll do great things irregardless of what school you attend. Just remember that you yourself can only limit what you can do in this life and you don't need anyone to tell you otherwise.

Good luck.
