Spring Break is officially here for my college. My exams went so-so. I know that I did extremely well on the ochem exam for solving reactions. I hope that this exam will yield my highest grade yet. On the topic of ochem, I received my highest lab score. I was absolutely elated because I work so hard on my write ups. My labs can only get better because I know the "great lab formula". I just need to focus on the little mistakes that add up.
Last night was my last exam of the week for physics II (similar to 8.02 at MIT). Let me just say that I wrecked that exam. I don't know what it is but I do better in calculus-based physics than I do in actual calculus. Don't get me wrong...I understand calculus but I do better in physics. It has certainly been a tough week because two exams were scheduled at the last minute on top of two other syllabus scheduled exams (altogether: calc II, Phys II, Ochem II, and Linear Algebra). Even if I didn't do well on an exam, I am not going to use that poor performance as an indication of how my future as engineer will be. People can't start second guessing the career they have worked so hard to get just because they're not acing exams. I hear this sort of talk from students all the time. I don't allow myself to do this because I honestly can't see myself doing anything else other than engineering and science. I don't let the small things get in my way.
